Fortran and OpenDataSoft announce a strategic partnership
Thursday, May 25, 2017
Fortran Traffic Systems Limited, a well-established leader in the North America transportation industry that provides traffic solutions and services, and OpenDataSoft, a dynamic software platform that specializes in making data open, transparent, and actionable, are excited to announce a strategic partnership.
Fortran and OpenDataSoft have teamed up to develop smart cities and transportation initiatives together. Fortran has joined OpenDataSoft’s Partner Program as an Authorized Value Added Reseller.
By combining the OpenDataSoft data sharing platform with Fortran technology, our clients will get more out of advanced traffic products and services. Transportation system performance management depends on aggregating and processing
data from multiple sources, compiling unique data sets, and creating stand-alone Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Thanks to this partnership, clients can expect to gain better control of public spending, improved performance of public transportation systems and work toward lighter traffic and a reduced carbon footprint.
“With OpenDataSoft we can meet the demands of our customers, who are asking for new ways to combine traffic information with other real-time data to provide new value and new insights. The OpenDataSoft platform is unique in its ability to easily collect, transform and publish both public and private data and we believe it will fill an important need for our customers”, said Marty Gehdu, Chief Operations Officer at Fortran.
Background Information
Fortran provides its customers with many different Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) solutions, from detection sensors and systems to traffic management software platforms. Fortran is working with OpenDataSoft to develop a platform that will complement ARIA, their Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS). ARIA ATMS provides an integrated platform for ITS initiatives including traffic signal control, information management, and data visualization and manipulation. OpenDataSoft’s portal will allow for more details analytics, customized visualization and curated data stories using the ARIA ATMS raw data.
“We are delighted to be working with a partner like Fortran, a leader in intelligent traffic management systems for over 35 years. Integrating Fortran’s Aria ATMS system with the OpenDataSoft platform will provide unique capabilities to our combined customers for collecting, processing and sharing urban mobility data”, declared Roger Hodskins, VP of Strategic Alliances at OpenDataSoft.
